The Performance Assessment Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and evolving software tools and analysis capabilities used to assess and analyze system performance. This role focuses on performance‑oriented software development, automation, data analysis, and collaboration across engineering teams to generate actionable performance insights that support mission‑critical decision‑making. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Develop software solutions focused on post‑processing analysis tools and visualizations used to assess system performance
Write high‑performance Java and Python code to support analysis, tooling, and automation efforts
Refactor legacy software components to improve scalability, latency, and resource utilization
Conduct deep‑dive performance studies and generate actionable insights
Recommend architectural or algorithmic improvements based on performance findings
Maintain, evolve, and troubleshoot the Jenkins and HTCondor automation platform, including pipeline jobs, scripts, and plugins
Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to understand and perform high‑level performance analysis
Create analysis documentation, technical briefings, and present findings to stakeholders
Maintain and update analysis utilities, visualization dashboards, and data exploration notebooks
Ensure analysis tools and artifacts are well documented and kept current
Translate existing MATLAB‑based tools into Java and Python implementations
