Job description

Waltonen is seeking a hands-on Programmer to develop internal tools, workflow automation systems, and intelligent business applications that improve operational efficiency across the organization.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain internal tools, agents, and workflow automation systems.
  • Build applications that support engineering, operations, manufacturing, and business functions.
  • Develop intelligent workflow automation solutions to streamline repetitive or manual processes.
  • Create and integrate tools for internal knowledge retrieval, reporting, process execution, and decision support.
  • Develop software applications and backend systems using Python, C, C++, Java, and related technologies.
  • Integrate technologies, APIs, databases, and business systems into existing infrastructure.
  • Build and deploy scalable production-ready and automation systems.
  • Collaborate across departments to identify and automation opportunities.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain software performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Research and implement emerging tools, frameworks, and technologies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of software development experience.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C / C++, Java, etc.
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies, APIs, and system integrations.
  • Understanding of workflow automation, Large Language Models (LLMs), Software architecture and scalable system design.
  • Experience with Git/version control systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and execute projects with minimal oversight.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing automation systems.
  • Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Vector databases, Cloud platforms, Docker/containerized environments.
  • Experience in manufacturing, defense, automotive, or industrial environments preferred.
