Position Overview

Xentity is seeking a highly skilled geospatial expert to join our team to deliver innovative geospatial tools and solutions which support land and resource managers with data development, management, analysis, and mapping support. This position requires strong expertise in Esris ArcGIS suite across Desktop, Web, Mobile, and Enterprise environments within the Federal Government environment.

This role will support technical geospatial projects within the natural resources domain and play a critical role in development and implementation of existing federal government solutions to inform federal land management agencies and decision makers to address complex challenges related to natural resources, disaster recovery, and public land management efforts.

Position Scope

  • Conduct spatial analysis to assess impacts of activities on natural ecosystems and resources to support management, conservation, disaster recovery, and restoration strategies
  • Support data development activities based on analysis, client needs, and project requirements
  • Develop and maintain spatial datasets, workflows, and analytical tools to support land management reporting and tracking
  • Create reporting products to support inventory, accomplishment tracking, and program reporting
  • Inform stakeholders on topics such as disaster recovery, planning, biodiversity, fire assessment, climate change, and natural resource inventory
  • Provide technical support to end users, including troubleshooting and training
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for spatial analysis tools and geospatial workflows
  • Facilitate meetings with internal teams and external clients
  • Support client understanding of program and project needs through technical collaboration

Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Geography, GIS, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Minimum experience level commensurate with role responsibilities in geospatial analysis or GIS implementation
  • Proficiency with Esris ArcGIS suite of software for Desktop, mobile, web, and enterprise applications
  • Experience with LiDAR data processing and generation of derivative products
  • Versed in Web GIS tools, workflows, and configuration of solution via Esri, MS PowerApps, and VertiGIS
  • Strong understanding of spatial data concepts related to spatial projections, coordinate systems, and data formats, LiDAR, raster, and imagery
  • Experience with Python scripting for data processing, analysis, and automation
  • Experience working in technical geospatial projects supporting natural resources or land management initiatives

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Esri ArcGIS Desktop, Web, Mobile, and Enterprise environments
  • Experience using ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, AGOL, Experience Builder, Dashboards, ArcHub, StoryMaps, and Arcade Expressions
  • Experience with Esri mobile GIS tools including Field Maps and Survey123
  • Lidar processing and derivative generation
  • ArcPy and Python libraries (e.g. gdal, pandas, geopandas, shapley, etc.)
  • Experience conducting spatial analysis and supporting geospatial data development
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal teams and clients
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively within Agile project teams
  • Familiarity with Atlassian products (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen to meet government contract requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a position of Public Trust clearance

Preferred Requirements

  • Direct experience and support for Federal Land Management agency programs and projects
  • Familiar with Safe Software Feature Manipulation Engine (FME)
  • Experience with Enterprise GIS components like ArcGIS Server, Portal, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, and Feature Services
  • Familiarity with Safe Software FME for ETL support
  • Integration of Esri apps and MS Power Apps
  • Understanding with R for data analysis
  • VertiGIS configuration to extend workflows and reporting via web GIS
  • Experience processing LiDAR data and derivative generation
  • Understanding of remote sensing data and platforms such as Google Earth Engine (GEE) and ERDAS
  • Project collaboration with land managers and SMEs to develop and manage data, design spatial workflows, and configure web mapping solutions
