Job Role: AI Engineer (Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Python, LLM)
Location: Northville, MI
Hire-Type: Contract
 
 
Position Summary
 
The ideal candidate will have experience developing AI-powered solutions while also building scalable data products, data pipelines, and cloud-based analytics capabilities. The role will support strategic initiatives, including Project Orion – Foundational Data Product, focused on enabling enterprise-ready finance data products and semantic-layer capabilities that support AI agents and models.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop AI-enabled solutions that drive business value across Finance and Accounting.
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, data integrations, and cloud-based data products to support analytics and AI use cases.
  • Develop Python-based solutions for data processing, automation, analytics, and AI applications.
  • Leverage Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), BigQuery, Vertex AI, and Gemini capabilities to develop and deploy business-focused AI solutions.
  • Support the development of agentic workflows and AI-powered automation opportunities.
  • Translate business challenges into scalable technical solutions using modern data and AI technologies.
  • Design, build, and optimize datasets that support reporting, analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives.
  • Collaborate across Analytics, Automation, AI, and IT teams to deliver solutions that can be successfully adopted and scaled.
  • Monitor, maintain, and enhance existing analytics and AI solutions to improve performance, reliability, and business impact.
 
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in AI engineering, data engineering, analytics engineering, data science, or software engineering.
  • Strong Python development skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience working with BigQuery and cloud-based data architectures.
  • Experience developing and deploying AI or machine learning solutions.
  • Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Gemini, Vertex AI, or similar AI platforms.
  • Experience building and supporting enterprise data products and data pipelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with business partners and technical teams.
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing agentic workflows or AI-powered automation solutions.
  • Experience supporting Finance, Accounting, Reporting, Audit, or Corporate Analytics organizations.
  • Experience working with semantic models, business data products, or AI-ready data architectures.
  • Tableau experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience delivering proof of concepts and scalable production solutions.
  • Consulting or enterprise contractor experience.
