Python Research Intern

Job Description:

The undergraduate research intern will work closely with senior staff to develop Python-based tools for optimizing heat conductivity in satellite components and improving component layout design. The intern will assist in building surrogate machine-learning models for heat-transfer prediction and will implement optimization workflows using existing Python optimization frameworks such as Pyomo. The project will involve both stochastic optimization methods and gradientbased approaches.

Required Skills:

  • Background in Mathematics
  • Familiarity with linear algebra, optimization, calculus, and basic machine learning techniques through coursework
  • Familiarity with Python programming

Basic Compensation:

$21.50 - $24.00 /hr.

The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
