Job description

Position: Principal Software Engineer Pay Rate: $60-110/hr+ (depending on level)
Location: Woodland Hills - Onsite (Full-Time)
Duration: 12-month contract - will extend  
Desired Skills and Experience: • Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years of software development experience, Master's with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year • Experience developing software using MATLAB and Simulink • Proficiency in C and Python programming • Experience with source control and workflow tools such as Git, ClearCase, ClearQuest, and/or Jira • Strong MATLAB experience for data creation, analysis, processing, and visualization • Experience modeling dynamic systems using Simulink • Expertise with Navigation Systems and INS/GPS Kalman filter design • Experience defining software requirements for navigation systems • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative development environment • U.S. Citizenship required • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance • Ability to work onsite full-time Nice to Have Experience: • Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance • Software test development, execution, and performance evaluation experience • Experience using DOORS for requirements management • Sensor fusion expertise using IMU, GPS, barometers, and related sensors • Advanced knowledge of INS mechanization techniques • Embedded INS/GPS navigation systems experience • Experience translating formal software requirements into software design solutions • Experience defining software requirements for INS/GPS systems • Familiarity with mission-critical and safety-critical software development standards such as DO-178B/C • MATLAB-based simulation and navigation system performance analysis experience • Experience with communication protocols including MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, and RS-422 • Experience with code analysis and software verification tools such as Polyspace, LDRA, and VectorCast Position Overview: The Principal Software Engineer will develop, test, debug, and integrate software for advanced navigation systems. This role works closely with a high-performing engineering team to design innovative solutions, support system integration activities, and contribute to the development of next-generation navigation capabilities in an Agile environment. Key Responsibilities:
-Develop, test, and debug software for advanced navigation systems.
-Design and implement software solutions using MATLAB, Simulink, C, and Python.
-Perform software and system integration activities on navigation hardware platforms.
-Apply Model-Based Engineering (MBE) methodologies to system and software development.
-Design and evaluate INS/GPS navigation algorithms and Kalman filters.
-Analyze, process, and visualize system performance data using MATLAB.
-Translate software requirements into functional software designs and implementations.
-Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams in an Agile development environment.
-Support software verification, validation, certification, and release activities.
-Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical innovation efforts.
-Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through effective communication and teamwork.
-Uphold high standards of ethics, integrity, and technical excellence while delivering mission-critical solutions.
