Python Go Developer information

How do Python Go Developers typically balance working with both languages on a day-to-day basis?

Python Go Developers often split their time based on the specific requirements of a project—using Python for tasks like scripting, automation, or rapid prototyping, and Go for building high-performance backend services or microservices. Collaboration with other team members is common, as developers may integrate Python components with Go-based systems, requiring effective communication and code documentation. Staying adaptable and comfortable context-switching between languages is key, and most teams encourage continuous learning to keep skills sharp in both ecosystems.

What are Python Go Developers?

Python Go Developers are software engineers who specialize in writing and maintaining applications using both the Python and Go (Golang) programming languages. These professionals leverage the strengths of both languages—Python for rapid development and scripting, and Go for high-performance, concurrent backend services. Their work often involves building scalable web applications, APIs, or microservices, integrating systems, and optimizing performance. Employers value Python Go Developers for their versatility and ability to choose the best tool for each task.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Python Go Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Python Go Developer, you need strong proficiency in both Python and Go programming languages, experience with software development life cycles, and often a relevant degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with frameworks (such as Flask or Gin), RESTful APIs, version control systems like Git, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is typically expected. Effective problem-solving, teamwork, and strong communication skills help developers collaborate and adapt to evolving project needs. Mastery of these skills ensures efficient delivery of high-quality, scalable software solutions in dynamic technical environments.

What is the difference between Python Go Developer vs Java Developer?

Job description

At Rite-Hite, your work makes an impact. As the global leader in loading dock and door equipment, we design and deliver solutions that keep our customers safe, secure, and productive. Here, you'll find innovation, stability, and the chance to grow your career as part of a team that's always looking ahead.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Platform Engineering and Automation

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines that support automated build, test, and deployment workflows using GitLab CI/CD and standardized Git workflows.
  • Develop and maintain reusable pipeline templates, infrastructure modules, and automation patterns that enable consistent and efficient delivery across teams.
  • Continuously improve deployment speed, reliability, and quality through automation and tooling enhancements.

Cloud Infrastructure and Kubernetes Operations

  • Design, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), with a primary focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Deploy, operate, and maintain Kubernetes clusters, particularly Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), ensuring high availability, scalability, and resilience.
  • Package and manage Kubernetes applications using Helm charts and established deployment standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support cloud-native application architectures and runtime requirements.

Reliability, Monitoring, and Incident Response

  • Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system performance, availability, and operational visibility (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring).
  • Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to restore service and prevent recurrence.
  • Contribute to fault-tolerant and resilient system designs that support production reliability and operational excellence.

Security and Compliance Enablement

  • Apply secure-by-design principles across CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and Kubernetes environments, including secrets management, access controls, and least-privilege IAM.
  • Collaborate with security and platform stakeholders to integrate vulnerability scanning, configuration hardening, and compliance requirements into delivery workflows.
  • Support organizational security, audit, and compliance initiatives by ensuring infrastructure and deployment processes are auditable, repeatable, and well-documented.

Collaboration and Documentation

  • Work closely with software engineers, QA, and platform stakeholders to understand delivery needs and remove friction from the development lifecycle.
  • Document infrastructure designs, deployment patterns, operational procedures, and architectural decisions to support knowledge sharing and long-term maintainability.
  • Promote DevOps best practices, automation-first thinking, and continuous improvement across engineering teams.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This role does not have direct reports but is expected to provide technical leadership, guidance, and enablement across multiple engineering teams.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field required; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure roles supporting production systems.
  • Experience operating cloud-native environments and supporting modern software delivery pipelines.

Knowledge / Skill Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, preferably Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
  • Strong proficiency with Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing infrastructure using Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tools.
  • Experience packaging and deploying applications using Helm.
  • Strong experience with GitLab, including CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, with preference for Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language such as Python or Go; experience with Node.js is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Logging, and Cloud Monitoring.
  • Familiarity with distributed tracing tools such as Google Cloud Trace.
  • Experience supporting security, compliance, or regulated environments.
  • Prior experience working in agile or product-driven development environments.
  • Relevant cloud or Kubernetes certifications (e.g., Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, CKA) are a plus.
