Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior .NET GIS Developer to design, develop, integrate, and maintain enterprise applications that combine Microsoft .NET technologies with ESRI ArcGIS solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong full-stack development experience with C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core/.NET 9, Entity Framework, SQL Server, and Azure, along with hands-on experience developing GIS solutions using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcMap, ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET, ArcPy, Arcade, and ModelBuilder.

This role requires a strong understanding of software architecture, GIS application development, spatial databases, system integration, and modern development practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop full-stack applications using C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, .NET Core, .NET 9, Entity Framework, MVC, and JavaScript.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and enterprise application interfaces.
  • Design, develop, and enhance ArcGIS Pro-based applications and custom extensions for spatial data editing.
  • Develop custom GIS tools, scripts, and workflows using ArcPy, Python, Arcade, and ModelBuilder.
  • Utilize ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET to integrate mapping and GIS functionality into enterprise applications.
  • Work with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server, Portal, SDE/DataStore, ArcGIS Online, ArcMap, and ArcGIS Pro.
  • Manage, process, analyze, validate, and maintain spatial datasets.
  • Develop solutions for editing and managing linear and point geographic features.
  • Optimize SQL Server databases, queries, and spatial data structures for performance.
  • Work with geospatial databases including SQL Server, Oracle/Oracle Spatial, and PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
  • Develop cloud-based applications using Microsoft Azure, including Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Functions.
  • Integrate GIS applications and data with enterprise systems and third-party platforms.
  • Automate repetitive GIS workflows and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX and front-end developers to integrate user-facing components with server-side functionality.
  • Gather requirements from technical and non-technical stakeholders and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and integration issues.
  • Maintain technical documentation, system designs, workflows, and user guides.
  • Support knowledge transfer and technical adoption across teams and agencies.
  • Follow security, architecture, development, and quality standards.
  • Participate in Agile/DevOps processes, version control, CI/CD, and release management.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, GIS, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of professional full-stack .NET development experience.

  • Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Maps SDK for .NET.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, ArcPy, Arcade, and ModelBuilder.
  • Strong knowledge of the ESRI product ecosystem, including:
    • ArcGIS Pro
    • ArcGIS Enterprise
    • ArcGIS Server
    • ArcGIS Portal
    • SDE/DataStore
    • ArcGIS Online
    • ArcMap
  • Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
  • Experience working with spatial/geospatial data in SQL Server, Oracle/Oracle Spatial, and/or PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development best practices.
  • Experience with Git/GitHub and Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, ALM, and release management.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft Azure certification(s).
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with advanced GIS application development and spatial data management.
  • Experience supporting enterprise or government GIS environments.
  • Knowledge of emerging GIS and geospatial technologies.
