Senior Full-Stack Python Engineer (AI & Root Cause Analysis)

Location: Foster City, CA (Hybrid – Minimum 3 days per week)
Pay Rate: Up to $72.46/hour (W2)
Contract Duration: 3–6 Months

About the Opportunity

A leading company in the autonomous mobility industry is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Python Engineer to help expand an AI-powered platform that automates issue triage and root cause analysis (RCA) for manufacturing operations.

This is a highly hands-on engineering role focused on building and enhancing LLM-powered applications, integrating manufacturing data sources, and delivering production-ready features in a fast-paced environment. The position is approximately 85% coding with a strong backend emphasis.

Please note: This is not an ML research, architecture, or infrastructure/SRE position.

What You'll Do

  • Design and enhance AI-powered triage and RCA agents to diagnose manufacturing failures and recommend solutions.
  • Develop full-stack features using Python, FastAPI, and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or similar).
  • Integrate diverse manufacturing and operational data sources, including diagnostics, historical issues, BOMs, firmware configurations, and collaboration tools.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate AI outputs, improve prompts and tooling, and increase solution accuracy.
  • Deliver scalable, maintainable, and well-tested code within an existing production platform.
  • Contribute to the expansion of AI-driven workflows that accelerate manufacturing issue resolution.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Python development, including REST APIs, FastAPI, asynchronous processing, and data pipelines.
  • Full-stack development experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, or similar technologies.
  • Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications or AI agents, including prompt engineering, tool integration, and output evaluation.
  • Proven ability to quickly become productive within existing codebases and deliver features in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience integrating APIs and working with multiple external data sources.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and commitment to producing production-quality code.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Bazel or other large monorepo build systems.
  • Background in manufacturing, hardware, diagnostics, or test-data environments.
  • Experience with vector search, embeddings, log analysis, or ticket analysis.
  • Familiarity with Databricks, AWS, GCP, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools.
