Job Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer to help build and deploy production applications powered by agentic AI. This role will focus primarily on Python development, API integration, and incorporating LLM capabilities into real-world software applications. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in software engineering, hands‑on experience with APIs and LLMs, and an interest in emerging AI technologies. This is a W2 contract position and is not eligible for C2C or W2 referral candidates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop clean, maintainable, and testable Python applications for production environments.
  • Design, build, and integrate REST APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
  • Integrate LLM and AI capabilities into production software applications.
  • Work with LLM APIs, including OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models.
  • Develop and integrate agentic AI workflows involving tool/function calling, prompt chaining, and agent loops.
  • Implement authentication, pagination, error handling, and other API best practices.
  • Write unit tests, participate in code reviews, and follow established software development practices.
  • Use Git and standard development tooling to collaborate effectively within an engineering team.
  • Read, troubleshoot, debug, and contribute to existing codebases.
  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and deploy new features.
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 0–2 years of software engineering experience, including internships, co‑ops, academic projects, hackathons, or substantial personal/open‑source projects.
  • Strong foundation in Python, including clean coding practices, testing, debugging, and common development tooling.
  • Hands‑on experience building or consuming REST APIs.
  • Understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including Git, version control, code reviews, testing, and collaborative development workflows.
  • Familiarity with agentic AI concepts, such as tool/function calling, prompt chaining, or agent loops.
  • Hands‑on experience integrating LLM APIs into an application.
Preferred
  • Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, or similar agentic AI frameworks.
  • Exposure to SQL or NoSQL databases, caching technologies, or message queues.
  • Experience with asynchronous or concurrent programming in Python.
  • Familiarity with Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts, including embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval pipelines.
  • Experience working with AI/ML projects through coursework, hackathons, personal projects, open‑source contributions, or professional experience.
Work Location and Hours

Hours you will be work: Monday through Friday, onsite in San Jose, CA; 8 am - 5 pm PST

Compensation

Compensation: $50-$70 per hour
