Job Description
Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in San Juan Capistrano, CA seeks Sr. Automation Engineer (multiple positions) to, as part of the Biomedical Engineering department, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, installations and decommissioning of highly complex laboratory instrumentation and related systems. Assess priority of equipment repair or maintenance and escalate repairs to the vendor and act as the liaison when needed. Maintain inventory of all service parts and materials as necessary in a cost-efficient manner. Maintain accurate and detailed records on all laboratory instrumentation associated with the system to include service/repair reports, calibrations, preventive maintenance, and current operational status of equipment. Develop tests and simulations to ensure the systems work as intended. Perform software/method and script testing and debugging. Train staff to support operations. Maintain compliance withs state, local, FDA, ISO, CLIA, CAP, and all other applicable governing bodies.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Automation, Computer Science, or Engineering plus: 3 years of experience servicing automation systems; servicing complex robotic systems including HighRes molecular genetic system, including programming drivers, programming automation methods, developing and debugging software operating systems (including Microsoft Windows), troubleshooting, alignment correction, and component-level repair; and using scheduler software programming and programming languages such as Java, C#, C+, C++, and Python.
Salary Range: $111,072 - $159,830/year.
