Job Title: Sr. Elastic Engineer
Location-Type: Hybrid 3 days a week in either Hanscom, MA or Hampton, VA
Start Date Is: July 6th
Duration: Permanent
Compensation Range: $160-180k

Job Description:
The Sr. Elastic Engineer will design, deploy, optimize, and support enterprise-scale Elastic Stack solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments. This role requires deep expertise in Elastic technologies, automation, observability, and cloud infrastructure while partnering with engineering, DevOps, and client teams to deliver scalable and resilient solutions.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Elastic Stack environments including Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats, and Fleet.
  • Develop and optimize data ingestion pipelines, indexing strategies, search performance, dashboards, and visualizations.
  • Build automation, scripting, and integrations using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.
  • Deploy and support Elastic solutions across AWS, Azure, GCP, GovCloud, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, and hybrid environments.
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code and deployment automation using Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and container technologies.
  • Integrate Elastic with SIEMs, security tools, endpoint telemetry, and cloud-native services.
  • Monitor platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system reliability and scalability.
  • Lead architecture reviews and provide technical guidance on Elastic best practices.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Support client-facing engagements and collaborate across technical teams.
  • Stay current on Elastic ecosystem advancements, certifications, and emerging technologies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Active Secret Clearance (minimum required).
  • Travel requiring passport likely for this role
  • Deep hands-on experience with Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats, Fleet).
  • Strong scripting and automation experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and optimizing large-scale production Elastic environments.
  • Strong understanding of observability, logging, metrics, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix administration and networking concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions and mentor engineering teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally for client engagements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and OpenShift.
  • Experience using Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience integrating Elastic with Splunk, Elastic Security, CrowdStrike, and other telemetry sources.
  • Background in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or cloud platform engineering.
  • Experience building enterprise observability platforms and large-scale monitoring solutions.
  • Familiarity with OpenSearch, Solr, Lucene, Graylog, Datadog, or similar technologies.
  • Experience working in government, defense, or highly regulated environments.
