Job Title: Senior QA Automation Engineer
Location: Hybrid in NY, NY or NJ
Duration: 12 months
Job Description:
o Perform functional and automation testing for Capital Markets ensuring quality, reliability, and performance.
o Understanding of index methodologies, benchmark indices, and capital markets data, experience in validating index calculations, market data, reference data, and benchmark-related financial applications or similar capital markets platforms
o Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Java or Python, and execute regression, API, and end-to-end testing.
o Validate data using SQL, databases, ETL pipelines, and Data Services to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
o Demonstrate AI fluency by leveraging AI-powered tools and Agentic AI/GenAI assistants to improve test design, test automation, defect analysis, root cause investigation, and overall QE productivity.
o Work with market data, pricing, reference data, index calculation, or similar financial applications.
o Experience testing high-volume, low-latency, real-time data platforms in Financial Services is highly preferred
Responsibilities:
o Develop and document application test plans and test cases based on software requirements and technical specifications
o Evaluate requirements and define testing objectives and approaches while working in Agile methodology
o Continuous review and improvement of the testing and quality assurance methodologies and measurement of these processes
o Test and respond to Software Quality Assurance issues with related groups such as Development, Database, Integration, and Customer Support
o Understand business model and customer needs and apply/modify QA techniques accordingly
o Provide effective communication regarding issues, testing status and potential risks
o Effectively interact with global customers, business users and IT staff
o Manage, maintain QA environments along with build and deployments
o Design and develop test automation solutions using Cucumber / Selenium, and other technologies determined to best suit our needs
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience
o 8+ years of experience in complete software testing activities.
o Experience with Capital Market and FinTech is ideal
o Experience with Index/Benchmarks, Asset Management, or Portfolio Investment modeling
o Experience with Market Data such as Equity, Forex or Options asset classes preferred and will be given preference.
o Hands on experience working with testing frameworks, Selenium web driver, Cucumber
o Hands on experience with Object oriented language like Java or Python
o Hands on experience with test frameworks like Carina, Karate would be plus
o Knowledge of cloud technology (AWS preferred)
o Experience in SQL a must. Knowledge of PL/SQL, No SQL DB, Linux/UNIX, Jenkins preferred
o Experience in supporting test strategy activities, particularly in integration of multiple applications and systems
o Experience in evaluating testing technologies , conducting test strategy design and test script code reviews
o Demonstrated skill to proactively resolves issues and escalate appropriately
o Experience in Gen-AI tools preferred.
o Excellent communication skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies
o Excellent understanding of release testing, sign-off and deployment methods
