Job Description

Growing Healthcare Services firm is looking for a DevOps Engineer with a passion for cloud computing, infrastructure as code and monitoring and maintaining highly available web applications.

This position will work closely with the software development team to ensure the developers have the deployment tools needed to ship code with ease. He/she will build customengineering tools and integrate existing tools.

In addition to helping to maintain developer satisfaction, the DevOps Engineer will help monitor/secure AWS infrastructure in an effort to ensure 24/7 availability. This person will w rite/test/maintain the Chef library cookbooks used to create cloud clusters.

The DevOps Engineer will perform the following key responsibilities:

  • Automate and provision everything with Chef, Jenkins 
  • Assist management of AWS Cloud services (EC2, ELB, S3) 
  • Assist management of Cloud Foundry PaaS  
  • Perform systems and application monitoring and load testing Collaborate with software development team
  • Provide on-call support for production operations


Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field or equivalent skills and experience Experience with configuration management (e.g. Chef, Salt, Puppet) Experience with systemmonitoring (e.g. Sensu, Nagios)
  • Experience in and commitment to a 24/7 production environment Understanding of UNIX/Linux operation system
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g. Ruby, JavaScript, Python)
  • Experience with systemlogging (e.g. Logstash, Splunk)
  • Experience configuring and deploying Ruby & NodeJs web application stacks
  • Excellent communication skills via email and online chat, in addition to in person and via phone Extreme attention to detail and very w ell organized
  • Flexibility in a changing environment. Agile philosophy, balancing expediency w ith accuracy
  • Dependability and responsibility, with strong follow-through and a high degree of ownership for projects Self-directed work style
  • A high level of integrity, with good judgment and recognition of need for confidentiality in certain circumstances
