Python Developer L3
FTE only, No C2C
Location: 4 days/week onsite in Merrifield, VA โ€“ Mosaic District

We are growing!! ASCENDING Inc, has doubled its revenue for the 3rd year in a row and our main technical delivery manager/technical co-founder is running out of bandwidth to manage all current professional services projects. We are looking for a strong, experienced candidate with 3+ years of experience in software development and DevOps who can come in, learn some of the individual projects and eventually work their way to managing teams and delivering for our client(s). The ideal candidate will have a degree in computer science, the ability to code backend and have demonstrated experience working in AWS environments and intimate knowledge of their services. Consulting experience and direct work with managing stakeholders/end clients is a big part of this role. Having the necessary written and verbal communication skills to do so effectively is paramount.

Must have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, physics or math
  • 3+ years experience in the US.
  • Backend development experience.ย 
  • Strong client-facing communication skills.ย 
  • Strong technical fundamentals of software engineering and/or DevOps (must be able to do the work from scratch if needed).
  • Extensive software engineering experience and ability to write object oriented code in Python.
  • Expertise in developing applications in the AWS cloud and extensive experience working with AWS services.

Preferred:

  • Extensive experience working with DevOps.
  • Experience working in a consulting role and/or having the ability to do hands on technical work as well as driving projects and solely managing stakeholders/end clients.
