Job description

The Senior Python Developer is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Mortgage Technology team using Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift and AI related technologies. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis, programming activities including integration with AI and to work closely with the business to deliver technological solutions that drive decision making.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver scalable, Python-based applications supporting the mortgage trading business, quantitative analytics, workflows and reporting.
  • Partner with the business, risk, product and cross-functional technology groups to integrate platforms, identify enhancements and enable new products and process improvements.
  • Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
  • Apply AI and GenAI capabilities to modernize workflows, automate analysis, and unlock new insights in mortgage tech.
  • Resolve high-impact, complex initiatives through analysis of business processes, system flows, and industry standards.
  • Apply engineering standards for coding, testing, CI/CD, debugging, and production readiness.
  • Serve as advisor or coach to new or junior analysts.
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

Recommend Qualifications:
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM field
  • Extensive knowledge of Python and container orchestration platforms
  • Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
  • Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
  • Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
