Job description

Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a Software Test Engineer to support the design and testing of geospatial/geographic information systems (GIS) using advanced programming languages.
 
Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Supports geospatial-based software design and testing with an emphasis on: 
    • Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) 
    • Backend logic and databases 
  • Conducts software testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning. 
  • Supports the evaluation and validation of software functionality and performance.
 
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
  • Bachelor of Science degree, conferred or currently in the final year of a program, in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific discipline. 
  • Three (3)+ years of Software Test Engineer experience. 
  • Strong understanding of advanced programming concepts, including: 
    • Object-oriented programming 
    • Design patterns 
    • Multi-threading 
    • Inter-process communication 
    • Buffering 
    • Persistence 
  • Solid understanding of data filtering, present-time filtering, future-time predictions, and interpolation/smoothing methods. 
  • Ability to conduct performance tuning and debugging. 
  • Experience with C++, C#, and/or Python programming. 
  • Knowledge of technologies such as ASP.NET, Blazor, .NET Core, and Mono is beneficial. 
  • Proficiency in a high-level programming language, with C++ and/or C# preferred.

Position Salary Range: $104,000 - $133,000. The listed salary range represents the typical range for this position. WR bases the offered salary on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, knowledge, and skills, scope and responsibilities of the position, and market and business considerations.
