Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (Java & Python) Contractor
Duration: 7 Months
Location: Sunrise (Hybrid 3 days/week onsite)

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong Java and Python expertise to support the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise-scale applications. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Agile environments, building distributed systems, and integrating modern AI/ML solutions.

Key Responsibilities Agile Delivery & Scrum Participation
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful sprint execution and delivery.
Stakeholder Communication
  • Provide clear and concise status updates to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans effectively.
Release Management & Production Support
  • Support production deployments and release activities.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and coordinate resolution efforts.
  • Ensure system reliability and operational excellence.
Requirements Gathering & Estimation
  • Work closely with Product Owners and business stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.
  • Break down requirements into actionable deliverables and provide effort estimates.
Architecture & Distributed Systems
  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot microservices and distributed applications.
  • Debug and resolve issues across APIs, messaging systems, event streams, and service integrations.
Required Qualifications
  • 5 8 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong experience delivering enterprise applications across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Advanced proficiency in Java (Java 8+) and Spring Boot.
  • Hands-on experience developing and supporting microservices architectures.
  • Strong Python development experience for backend services, automation, orchestration, or AI-related solutions.
  • Production experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with:
    • Kafka producers and consumers
    • Topic design and management
    • Error handling and monitoring
    • Kafka Streams and/or Flink (preferred)
  • Experience integrating AI/ML solutions, LLM APIs, or machine learning platforms into enterprise applications.
  • Understanding of ML lifecycle concepts including data preparation, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is preferred.
  • Cloud certifications are a plus.
