Responsibilities
This position will be located in Budd Lake, NJ at Keysight's Electronic Industrial Solutions Group. This site is primarily devoted to the design, manufacture, and marketing of Keysight's power supply solutions. These products range from multi-kilowatt switching supplies, AC sources, 30kW regenerative power solutions, solar array simulators, to AC grid emulators up to 1MW in power.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest and skill set in power electronics, switching converter design, analog design, control systems, digital signal processing, and embedded programming. HDL skills would be a plus.
In this position, you will work on hardware-based designs for new Keysight programmable power supplies. You will regularly use some of the most advanced measurement and simulation tools available while collaborating with other highly skilled and accomplished staff members.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications include:
  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering
  • Ability to work daily on-site in Budd Lake, NJ, providing technical leadership on power-electronics subsystems and mentoring new college graduates as needed
  • Strong team player who can work across multiple design disciplines in a collaborative, efficient manner to hit project milestones on time and on budget
  • Ability to both leverage existing solutions and develop from-scratch design concepts based on project needs
  • Direct design experience with power electronics and switching converter designs from 500W to 50kW, particularly as it relates to power supplies and regenerative grid technologies
  • Ability to generate cost-effective, dense designs that meet safety, EMC, and internal quality metrics
  • Direct experience with board layout as it relates to switching converter designs
  • Strong analog design skills, including experience in both time and frequency domain measurements
  • Strong skill set in continuous and discrete signals and systems
  • Experience with both analog and digital control theory and design methods
  • Ability to model systems in Matlab and circuit simulator tools such as Saber, SPICE, or PLECS

Preferred Qualifications include:
  • 8+ years of experience in hardware design, particularly involving power supplies and electronic measurement devices
  • Experience with digital signal processing (DSP), ideally with HDL skills
  • Experience coding, simulating, testing, and debugging HDL designs
  • Strong Python programming skills. Be able to create code that is clear, efficient, maintainable, and well documented.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple design domains including firmware, gateware, analog and digital hardware interfaces
