Position Summary: Caremark LLC, a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in Woonsocket, RI: Sr. Data Engineer to Design, build, and manage large-scale data pipelines and backend services to support analytics, machine learning and AI platform initiatives. Duties include: collect, organize and standardize data to enable reporting; design database schemas and data models to support internal reporting and analytics; integrate data from multiple sources while ensuring data quality and accessibility standards; develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using workflow orchestration tools to enable model training, feature engineering, and inference; build backend API services for AI applications, including secure authentication, data storage, and metrics logging; collaborate with enterprise infrastructure, observability, networking, devops and AI governance teams to build automated AI production workflows; support large language model (LLM) integration efforts, including prompt engineering and building applications that leverage generative AI; contribute to AI platform capabilities for reporting, governance and compliance tracking; develop Python libraries and reusable components to streamline data operations, automate compliance, and improve engineering efficiency; analyze current information technology and cloud environments to identify and assess critical capabilities, performance bottlenecks, and cost drivers and recommend solutions; implement software engineering best practices including CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, and thorough code reviews; and mentor junior team members. Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Data Analytics, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Requires one (1) year of experience in each of the following: Python programming for data engineering and backend development; Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud services; BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar cloud data warehouses; Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools; Building and operating data pipelines at scale; SQL for data querying and transformation; FastAPI, Flask, or similar Python web frameworks; Building CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments; Working with machine learning platforms or MLOps infrastructure; Relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL; Unix, Linux, or Shell scripting; and Version control using Git. Pay Range: $109512.00/year to $185400.00/year.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
