POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The STIBO MDM Engineer reports to the Director, Data

The STIBO MDM Engineer – is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise master data solutions with STIBO STEP while leveraging strong data analysis and engineering capabilities to ensure data integrity, quality, and cross-system alignment.

The position reports to the Director, Data and plays a critical role in translating governance-approved business requirements into technically sound, high-quality platform enhancements and integrations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Platform Expertise & Technical Oversight

  • Serve as the internal SME for STIBO STEP, providing guidance on configuration, architecture, and best practices.
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, data governance standards, and MDM strategy.
  • Assess cross-domain and cross-system impacts of proposed changes.

Solution Design & Implementation

  • Translate approved business requirements into detailed technical design specifications.
  • Design and implement:
    • o Data model enhancements (object types, attributes, hierarchies, reference types)
    • o Business rules and validation logic
    • o Workflows and lifecycle management
    • o Role-based security configurations
  • Evaluate domain impacts, workflow dependencies, and integration of touchpoints prior to implementation.
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive technical documentation.

Data Analysis & Technical Analytics

  • Utilize SQL, Python or similar to analyze, validate, and reconcile master data across STIBO and connected systems.
  • Perform data profiling, impact analysis, and root cause analysis to support governance decisions.
  • Leverage Python (or similar scripting languages) for data validation, automation, and analytical tasks.
  • Support data quality monitoring by identifying anomalies, inconsistencies, and integrity gaps.
  • Assist cross-functional teams with data extracts, transformation logic validation, and technical analysis.
  • Validate integration of payloads and downstream data consumption accuracy.

Delivery & Backlog Management

  • Partner with Business Analysts to refine requirements and define technical tasks.
  • Participate in backlog grooming, estimation, and prioritization activities.
  • Design and implement STIBO enhancements and support release activities in partnership with the Director of MDM Technical.
  • Ensure quality, scalability, and maintainability of solutions.

Integration & Data Exchange

  • Identify and design integration touchpoints between STIBO and upstream/downstream systems (e.g., ERP, eCommerce, data warehouses, 1WorldSync, AutoQuote).
  • Support development and modification of APIs, data imports/exports, and integration services.
  • Collaborate with integration teams to ensure reliable data synchronization and performance.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct unit and integration testing.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and business validation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical and data-related issues.
  • Ensure adherence to data quality and performance standards.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Data Governance, Architecture, and Business stakeholders.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex MDM issues.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10–12+ years of experience in Master Data Management or enterprise data platforms.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with STIBO STEP (data modeling, workflows, configuration, integrations).
  • Strong experience in data modeling, workflow configuration, and business rule implementation.
  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to query, validate, and reconcile enterprise datasets.
  • Experience using Python (or similar scripting language) for data analysis, automation, or integration support.
  • Experience performing data profiling and root cause analysis.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and data structures
  • Experience designing and supporting system integrations (REST APIs, batch processing, data interfaces).
  • Experience managing technical backlogs and delivering enterprise-scale solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and impact assessment skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in Retail, Distribution, or other product-centric industries.
  • Experience managing Product, Customer, or Supplier data domains within an MDM environment.
  • Familiarity with eCommerce platforms and enterprise integration ecosystems.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and data quality management principles.
  • Experience working with enterprise data warehouses or analytics platforms.
  • Experience supporting BI/reporting teams with master data analysis.
  • Familiarity with data quality monitoring tools and frameworks.
