Job Summary:
Ursus, Inc. is seeking a Python Engineer proficient in AI technologies to develop advanced AI agents for automated customer support and intelligent workflows. The role involves collaboration with various teams to implement scalable AI features and enhance user experiences through innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Design and build secure, intuitive, and efficient AI agents across multiple modalities (e.g., voice, text, or multi-modal interfaces), integrating them seamlessly into our ecosystem for tasks like real-time query handling and automated workflows
• Quickly grasp new concepts in AI, such as developing diverse agent interfaces, and apply your knowledge to integrate with knowledge bases and transactional systems using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques
• Push your first pull request (PR) with your own code to our AI platform in your first week
• Form data contracts (e.g., using protobuf or APIs) with partner teams for the pragmatic implementation of scalable AI features, designed in concert with engineering, product, and design teams
• Own a portion of the AI agent codebase, focusing on quality, performance, and cross-modality integration; write documentation, review code from team members, and ensure robust handling of edge cases like variable input types or high-latency RAG queries
• Focus on keeping processes, code, and tooling as safe, fast, and reliable as our AI systems; elevate standards across teams to enhance work experiences while delivering value to users
• Use first principles thinking to continually optimize AI processes and practices, such as refining RAG pipelines for faster retrieval and better accuracy, ultimately providing superior experiences for customers and accelerating sustainable energy transitions
Qualifications:
Required:
• Having experience in shipping secure, scalable AI applications, with a focus on agent-based systems across modalities (e.g., voice integration using libraries like liveKit, various STT & TTS providers, text-based agents, or multi-modal setups)
• Sound knowledge and hands-on experience with Python for AI development, including building and integrating RAG systems (e.g., using LangChain, FAISS, or Pinecone for knowledge base retrieval)
• Excellent knowledge of modern programming languages and AI tools (Python, TypeScript, etc.), with experience in creating RAG pipelines, integrating with transactional systems (e.g., databases like PostgreSQL or APIs for real-time data), and handling diverse data processing needs
Preferred:
• Professional or personal experience building products in domains like AI agents, natural language processing (NLP), voice assistants, knowledge management systems, or multi-modal AI is a plus
