Senior Data Engineer โ€“ Core Data Platform

Location: Glendale (Onsite โ€“ 4 Days/Week)
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-scale data platforms and pipelines. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Snowflake, Python, SQL, AWS, Airflow, and DBT, with hands-on experience building scalable, high-performance data solutions in production environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and Core Data Platform solutions.
  • Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Build and optimize data warehouse solutions using Snowflake and DBT.
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow.
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, data scientists, and engineering teams.
  • Design reliable, scalable, and high-performing data solutions.
  • Implement data governance, data contracts, and best practices.
  • Optimize SQL queries and improve data pipeline performance.
  • Work with AWS services including S3, Lambda, SNS, and SQS.
  • Maintain documentation for data pipelines, standards, and governance.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and SLA compliance across the platform.
Required Qualifications
  • 9โ€“13 years of overall IT experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience.
  • Strong experience building and supporting Core Data Platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake implementation and optimization.
  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Advanced SQL, including complex query development and performance tuning.
  • Experience with Airflow and DBT.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Dimensional Data Modeling
    • Data Normalization
    • OLTP vs. OLAP architectures
  • Experience designing enterprise-scale data pipelines and data warehouse solutions.
  • Experience with AWS services:
    • S3
    • Lambda
    • SNS
    • SQS
  • Experience with Apache Iceberg.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
