Job description

Job Title: Full Stack Software Engineering Lead

Location: Orlando, Florida

Type: Contract to Hire

Contractor Work Model: Hybrid, onsite and remote

Telework: Less than 50%

Schedule: 4/10 first shift schedule

Hours: 40 hours per week

Security Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret clearance is preferred

Program: Air & Commercial Solutions ACS Turnkey Program

Overview

Responsibilities

Lead a development team delivering next generation data analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities for the ACS Turnkey Program.

Design and implement a scalable platform that supports advanced analytics, AI driven development acceleration, and long term platform adaptability.

Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across platform domains, including archival, disaster recovery, and backup strategies.

Define, develop, and publish robust APIs that expose data and services to front end clients and third party consumers.

Develop responsive user interface components using modern React frameworks such as Next.js and Shadcn UI Kit to support dashboards, visualizations, and interactive data views.

Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab for automated testing, linting, and deployment to both cloud based and air gapped environments.

Integrate third party services, including email and SMS notifications.

Support integration with learning management standards such as SCORM, xAPI, and CMI5.

Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end to end tests to protect against regressions and maintain high code quality.

Document APIs, data models, deployment procedures, and technical workflows to support cross team collaboration.

Leverage AI tools such as Claude, Cline AI Plugin for VSCode, LLM code assistants, and other generative development tools to accelerate coding, refactoring, test generation, and design validation.

Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for full stack solutions involving data flow, security, archival, disaster recovery, and AI enabled development practices.

Requirements

Must have at least 6 years of experience delivering full stack software solutions on complex, data intensive programs.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required. Related technical degrees with strong software development experience may also be considered.

Experience leading or providing technical direction to software development teams.

Experience with version control software, preferably GitLab, including repositories, merge requests, and pipelines.

Strong understanding of software design patterns, automated testing, continuous integration, and code quality best practices.

Experience developing REST APIs and working with data services used by front end applications and third party consumers.

Familiarity with relational databases, messaging services, REST APIs, and object storage.

Ability to design and implement responsive user interfaces, dashboards, visualizations, and interactive data views.

Experience with modern front end development using React, Next.js, Shadcn UI Kit, or similar technologies.

Experience with backend development using Node.js, FastAPI, Python, or comparable modern API frameworks.

Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, linting, and deployment.

Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.

Experience working in Agile environments, including Scrum, Kanban, or cross functional Agile teams.

Experience with DevOps tools and deployment technologies such as Ansible, Nexus, GitLab Runner, Harbor, Kubernetes, and cloud based deployment models.

Experience or familiarity with secure, air gapped, or restricted deployment environments.

Ability to leverage AI development tools to enhance productivity, improve code quality, support refactoring, generate tests, and validate design decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Apache Superset or Trino for cross platform data querying and analytics.

Experience with cloud and air gapped deployment models.

Experience integrating email or SMS notification services.

Experience with learning management standards, including SCORM, xAPI, or CMI5.

Prior exposure to turnkey training systems, learning architectures, or training platform development.

Experience supporting data analytics, AI enabled platforms, or development acceleration tools.

Experience designing platforms with long term adaptability as AI capabilities evolve.

Ability to obtain a Secret clearance is preferred.
