IT Infrastructure Intern

At NCCI, we're looking for an IT Infrastructure Intern to join our Platform and Network Engineering team starting in October 2026! Our internship provides an opportunity that introduces Platform Services and Network Services day-to-day operations within NCCI. As an intern, you'll be primarily focused on related projects, and short-term 3-4 month initiatives to help drive improvements within the Platform and Network Engineering space. You'll be exposed to frontline tasks associated with infrastructure practices, including automation, refining monitoring and alerting, documentation, and advancing site reliability. This internship is a fantastic opportunity to learn firsthand how IT infrastructure is implemented, managed, and enhanced to serve the business. This will be a paid, part-time internship working approximately 20-25 hours per week during the Fall 2026/Spring 2027 semesters. WORK LOCATION: This position will work in a flexible-hybrid environment. The selected candidate must live locally within a commutable distance to our Boca Raton, FL headquarters. NOTE: NCCI will not sponsor applicants for work visas.

What You’ll Do

As an IT infrastructure intern, you'll work alongside one or more mentors to perform research, scripting leveraging infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, ticket processing, analysis, and remediation tasks. To be effective, our interns must have a general understanding of Linux and programming principles and concepts, as well as solid practical hands-on experience with computers.

What It Takes
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or enrolled in a reputable trade program
  • Fundamental knowledge of IT infrastructure principles and best practices
  • General knowledge and hands-on coursework (lab) experience with Linux, programming, network, monitoring, and log management tools
  • Basic understanding, knowledge of, and hands-on capabilities with operating system configuration (Windows, Unix, Linux) and networking (DNS, DHCP, routing protocols)
  • Ability to analyze event and incident logs, and work with senior members to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Basic exposure to one or more scripting language (Terraform, Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.) preferred
