This is a 1st shift position located on-site in Reno, NV or South Portland, ME.

Job Summary:

  • Support testing and evaluation of products against global standards for energy storage systems, high-power inverters, converters, and related power electronics equipment.

  • Execute product safety testing and support construction reviews in accordance with applicable standards and test plans.

  • Perform grid interoperability testing, troubleshooting, data analysis, and documentation.

  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams, external labs, and other stakeholders to troubleshoot equipment under test, identify issues, and support practical solutions while maintaining project timelines and safe work practices.

  • Support test automation using AC/DC power sources, measurement equipment, electronic load banks, and power conversion systems.

  • Assist with test planning, schedule tracking, Gantt charts, and project execution activities.

  • Design, build, and use test fixtures, test equipment, and lab setups to support certification and compliance testing.

  • Set up test configuration hardware and firmware, execute tests, and post-process test results.

  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to improve testing efficiency and support the certification process.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Power Systems, Power Electronics, or a related technical field.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of high-voltage systems, electrical principles, and the ability to read or support the development of electrical wiring diagrams.

  • Familiarity with electrical schematics, layout drawings, test setups, and other technical documentation.

  • Hands-on exposure to lab equipment such as Yokogawa power analyzers, grid simulators, RLC load banks, and communication interfaces is preferred.

  • Strong Python skills; experience with Pytest or test automation is a plus.

  • Exposure to NRTL, product certification, or global compliance processes is a plus.

  • Strong lab testing, data analysis, troubleshooting, documentation, and reporting skills.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering and compliance teams.

  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while taking direction and feedback from team members.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.
