Job description

Senior DevOps Engineer

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – Local Candidates Only)
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Work Authorization: Authorized to work in the United States

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to support a large-scale enterprise cloud and data modernization initiative. This role requires a highly skilled professional with deep expertise in Azure Cloud Services, Snowflake Administration, DevOps Automation, CI/CD Pipelines, and AI-enabled Data Platforms.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing scalable cloud infrastructure, secure data platforms, and automated deployment pipelines. This position plays a critical role in enabling efficient software delivery, optimizing cloud performance, ensuring platform security, and supporting AI/ML integration initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise DevOps solutions utilizing Azure cloud technologies.
  • Develop, optimize, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Git-based workflows.
  • Build and support scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure environments.
  • Administer and optimize Snowflake environments, including warehouse management, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
  • Implement and manage Snowflake security frameworks, including RBAC, access controls, and least-privilege models.
  • Develop automation solutions and operational tooling using Python scripting.
  • Deploy, manage, and monitor containerized applications using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Build and maintain data pipelines, ETL workflows, and cloud-based integration solutions.
  • Collaborate with data engineering, analytics, AI/ML, and application development teams to deliver reliable platforms and services.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
  • Support AI/ML platform integration and deployment initiatives within enterprise cloud environments.
  • Ensure compliance with security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, deployment, and performance issues across cloud and data platforms.
  • Create technical documentation, operational procedures, and architecture standards.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and recommend technology improvements and best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience in DevOps engineering, cloud infrastructure, and automation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Azure DevOps
    • Git
    • CI/CD pipeline implementation and administration
  • Minimum 8 years of experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
  • Extensive Snowflake administration experience, including:
    • RBAC and security management
    • Warehouse sizing and optimization
    • Performance tuning
    • Access management and governance
  • Advanced Python scripting and automation experience.
  • Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, preferably Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Experience developing and supporting data pipelines, ETL processes, and cloud-based data integration solutions.
  • Understanding of AI/ML concepts and cloud-based AI platform integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, centralized logging, dashboards, and alerting solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring, observability, and performance management tools.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing AI-enabled data platforms such as Snowflake Cortex and machine learning pipelines.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep.
  • Knowledge of data security, compliance, governance, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Previous experience supporting public sector, government, or large enterprise environments.
  • Exposure to Snowflake AI and Cortex capabilities.
