UCT is looking for a talented Data Scientist to join us in Chandler, AZ!
Job Summary:
  • The Data Scientist will serve as a key contributor to the company's data and analytics strategy, partnering with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and IT stakeholders to deliver advanced analytics, generative AI, and machine learning solutions. This role focuses on applying statistical modeling, classifier models, and predictive analytics to improve supply chain efficiency, back office, and operational performance.
  • The role leverages enterprise analytics platforms including Databricks and Microsoft Copilot Studio to enable AI-assisted insights and intelligent automation for manufacturing and operations users.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, validate, and deploy machine learning and statistical models to support manufacturing and supply chain use cases such as supplier lead time prediction, inventory segmentation and safety stock optimization, demand forecasting, and predictive cash flow modeling.
  • Design and implement classifier models to identify & predict patterns in product, customer, and supplier taxonomies.
  • ML/Ops: support the full lifecycle of AI Model development & support. Evaluate and monitor model performance, accuracy, and scalability in production environments.
  • Utilize AI to augment IT operations; advocate for augmentation of IT processes using AI including Generative AI for software development (Github Copilot or similar), as well as Agent development in Copilot studio for knowledge management and automation of IT operational workflows.

Qualifications
  • Education -
    • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience
    • 3- 5 years of experience in data science or advanced analytics, preferably in a high-tech manufacturing environment. Semiconductor equipment manufacturing experience is a definitive advantage.

Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in Python, Scikit-Learn, Optuna
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks, ML/OPS in Databricks, Unity Catalog
  • Experience developing classifier models (Random Forest, KNN, Decision Trees)
  • Strong SQL skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio development & agent governance
  • Familiarity with Power BI is a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering practical, scalable solutions.
