Job description

Junior Data Scientist / Sr Analyst
OCT Consulting is a business management and technology consulting firm that supports Federal Government clients. We provide consulting services in the areas of Program and Project Management, Acquisition/Procurement, Data Analytics, and Information Technology.
Responsibilities and Duties
OCT currently has an opening for a Junior Data Scientist to support an existing federal client with data analysis and predictive model development on the Databricks platform.
Day to day responsibilities include:
  • Data cleaning and ETL development with SQL and Python
  • Data analysis using SQL and Python
  • Building pipelines in Databricks
  • Building visualizations with Databricks

Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Minimum B.S. (M.S. preferred) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or similar
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience
  • Familiarity with FAIR principles, data governance, and AI ethics.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks features such as Unity Catalog setup, privilege models, and workspace administration required.
  • Databricks certifications are preferred
  • Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Location: Hybrid, with 2 days/week in the McLean, VA office
