Position Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Los Angeles, CA 90012 (Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions. The role focuses on developing robust ETL/ELT processes, optimizing data architectures, and enabling high-quality analytics and reporting across enterprise systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in cloud data platforms, big data technologies, data modeling, and data governance, along with hands-on engineering expertise in Python and SQL.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows
  • Build and optimize data models, schemas, and data warehouse solutions
  • Develop and support cloud-based data solutions using modern data platforms
  • Integrate and manage APIs for data ingestion and distribution
  • Implement and maintain data governance, security, and compliance standards
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data processing workflows
  • Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to support reporting and insights
  • Develop infrastructure automation using CI/CD and IaC tools
  • Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of data systems
 
Required Skills & Qualifications
Cloud & Data Platforms
  • Strong experience with Azure ecosystem (ADF, Data Lake, Blob Storage, Functions)
  • Experience with Databricks and Apache Spark
Data Engineering
  • Strong experience in ETL/ELT pipeline development
  • Data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing concepts
  • Experience with OLTP/OLAP systems and performance tuning
Programming
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Exposure to Scala or R is a plus
Big Data & Analytics
  • Experience with Spark, PySpark, and Databricks
  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Data Governance & Security
  • Knowledge of RBAC/ABAC, data lineage, and data security practices
  • Experience implementing monitoring and audit controls in cloud environments
DevOps & Infrastructure
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code
  • Experience with YAML-based deployment automation
 
Experience Required
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or enterprise data architecture
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks
  • 5+ years of experience building data pipelines using Python and SQL
  • 5+ years of experience with data warehousing and BI integration
  • 5+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure automation
  • Strong experience working with Lakehouse or modern data architecture
 
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
