Position Purpose:
The Senior Developer, Item Data, serves as the technical authority for the lifecycle of product information, architecting robust data pipelines and sophisticated data models that ensure a reliable source of truth. This role bridges the gap between raw data and strategy by building intuitive reporting suites and high-impact visualizations that translate complex datasets into actionable narratives. As a proactive consultant to cross-functional partners, the candidate would be expected to identify emerging trends and deliver strategic insights before they are requested. This role is essential to optimizing item data integrity and driving data-informed decision-making across the enterprise, merging technical engineering excellence with a business-first mindset.
Responsibilities:
  • Architect and maintain sophisticated, scalable schemas that support complex product analysis, ensuring consistency across the catalog and disparate channels.
  • Build and automate robust ETL workflows that apply rigorous validation to ensure high data integrity.
  • Develop advanced dashboards and self-service reporting tools that translate multidimensional item data into clear, visual narratives for executive and operational stakeholders.
  • Partner with site experience and merchandising teams to identify data opportunities and optimal communication networks to deliver predictive insights that support performance and lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • 30% Define, plan and implement solutions on assigned moderately complex projects.
  • 25% Take business requirements and develop the total technical design on moderately complex projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production.
  • 20% Conduct appropriate test reviews for assigned projects and present to architecture review boards as necessary.
  • 15% Promote and follow the established processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards.
  • 10% Provide technical direction to associate developers, developers and contractors.

  • Proven expertise in manipulating and analyzing large datasets using SQL and/or other programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and working in GBQ.
  • Significant experience with ETL frameworks and schema design.
  • Strong proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex data concepts and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
