We're currently looking for a Data Scientist to join our team at our Nissan Americas HQ in Franklin, TN.
The Data Scientist drives the organization's advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives, transforming data into actionable insights that support business decision-making and innovation.
A Day in the Life:
  • Create and design technical solutions to meet business needs by translating end user's requirements and finding innovative, creative visualizations and tools. Must be capable of strategizing and brainstorming with the team to create a viable solution.
  • Develops complex data and predictive/prescriptive/AI analytics models and solutions.
  • Provide insights to the business and drive key learnings and recommendations using available internal and external data specifically around Service Retention and related KPI's.
  • Assist in development, maintenance and management of advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards and other BI solutions primarily using SQL, Python, Informatica Prep, Snowflake, AWS and Power BI.
  • Extracts, validates, and analyzes desired data using extraction tools.
  • Understand and utilize tools to store data effectively within the data mart or data lake solutions, online analytical processing, as well as maintaining data analytics platforms so that data can effectively be mined for information by the end user body.
  • Conduct end user tests and develop database queries to analyze the effects and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Capable of participating in the ongoing iterative development process of the team's projects.
  • Participate in gathering requirements to improve existing systems from teams within the business to streamline workflow and processes.
  • Assist in documenting new processes, optimizations and terms in existing electronic data glossary.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously and transition between projects while working both independently and effectively in teams.
  • As necessary, perform other related duties of which the above are representative.

Who We're Looking for:
Job Knowledge and Skill:
  • Advanced analytical skills. Quantitative Analytics. Proficient in Machine Learning and programming languages. Automotive Aftersales Service Retention and Service Retention drivers or related knowledge preferred. Understanding of US Market and dealer Service operations preferred. Advanced ETL capabilities using SQL, Python, Snowflake, and AWS to data mine Aftersales business insights and create data pipelines to support business use-case execution Knowledge of NNA Systems preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Experience:
  • Hands on 5 to 7 years of Data Analytics experience with min 4 years of focus on Data Science experience required. Professional Certifications in AI or Data Science are advantageous.
  • Experienced in development of predictive analytics related to data-driven use-cases in a business vs. an IT role. Experience in designing effective data models, trend forecasts, and visualizations of analytics.
  • Proficient in Big Data management. Proficient in statistics. Proficiency in SQL / Python required. Relational database modeling fundamentals required. Experienced with ETL Self-Service Applications desired. Web Development is a plus.
  • Business, Aftersales, Purchasing, Service Marketing experience is preferred. Technical automotive parts experience beneficial.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology/Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Analytics, Business Technology or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
