Sr. Python Data Engineer - 12 Month Contract - Spring, TX
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Reservoir Engineer Contractor to work closely with our reservoir engineering and analyst teams to productionize their analytical code and automate data manipulations and quality checks. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python and experience working in Spotfire and Databricks environments. This role requires close interaction with engineers to transform existing workflows into scalable, maintainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with different teams to understand existing analytical workflows and models.
  • Refactor and productionize Python code mainly for maintainability. Performance and scalability are secondary for this work.
  • Develop and deploy automated solutions in Databricks and integrate with Spotfire dashboards.
  • Implement best practices for version control, testing, and documentation.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with company standards.
Required Skills:
  • Programming: Advanced Python (data manipulation, automation, and object-oriented programming).
  • Data Platforms: Databricks (PySpark and SQL data manipulation), Spotfire (data visualization and integration).
  • Data Engineering: ETL processes, data pipelines, and cloud-based workflows.
  • Version Control: Git/GitHub.
  • Testing & Deployment: Unit testing, CI/CD pipelines.
