The Cyber Security Analyst will assist in developing and implementing technical security measures to protect Precision Drilling's information systems. The successful candidate will support the organization's cyber security strategy through hands-on technical work and collaboration with various teams.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Implement and maintain technical security controls, tools, and documentation (policies, procedures, guidelines).
  • Monitor and respond to security events using Precision's MDR provider and Microsoft security suite (Defender, InTune).
  • Manage Windows system security, including patching, vulnerability assessments, and system hardening in collaboration with IT.
  • Support development and deployment of security technologies, risk management initiatives, and vendor security assessments.
  • Provide reporting (KPIs), technical guidance, and participate in on-call rotation for security operations.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or 5+ years in a technical cybersecurity role, with strong technical skills in security tools and technologies.
  • Extensive experience with cybersecurity technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection), Microsoft Enterprise environments, and cloud security (Azure & Entra). Familiarity with scripting/automation tools (PowerShell, Python) and CyberArk is desirable.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO 270XX, CIS) and best practices, with experience in incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
  • Security certifications such as CEH, CompTIA Security+, GIAC, or CISSP preferred; exposure to SAP, DevSecOps, and Oil & Gas industry is desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills; ability to document processes, present technical material clearly, and manage priorities independently while driving innovation.
