Key responsibilities

  • Master how business entity data behaves as it flows through the data pipeline, including transformations and quality issues.

  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams to drive pipeline enhancements and validate improvements through testing and verification.

  • Lead data improvement initiatives by solving complex data challenges and building repeatable approaches to testing, validation, and root cause analysis.

Job description

ZoomInfo is where careers accelerate. We move fast, think boldly, and empower you to do the best work of your life. You'll be surrounded by teammates who care deeply, challenge each other, and celebrate wins. With tools that amplify your impact and a culture that backs your ambition, you won't just contribute. You'll make things happen-fast.
ZoomInfo is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to become the expert on our business entity data pipeline-the system that ingests, processes, and profiles millions of company records that power our customers' go-to-market strategies.
In this role, you'll build deep expertise in how our business entity data flows from acquisition through profiling and output. You'll understand how data is transformed and processed through the pipeline, bring informed opinions to technical conversations, and help shape the evolution of our data quality capabilities. As you build mastery of our systems, you'll increasingly lead strategic data improvement initiatives that require both systems thinking and creative problem-solving.
This isn't about building dashboards or SQL reports. This is about understanding how data behaves as it moves through systems, solving complex data quality challenges, and ensuring our pipeline continuously evolves to meet customer needs and maintain competitive advantage.
Who You Are
Systems Thinker with Technical Depth: You understand how data systems work, not just what they produce. You've worked with data pipelines or ETL workflows and can review code (Python, Java, SQL) to understand data transformations and trace how data flows through systems.
B2B Data & GTM Domain Expert: You understand firmographic data and how sales and marketing teams use company attributes (employee counts, locations, hierarchies, technology usage, industry classifications) for targeting and segmentation. You've worked with B2B sales data or revenue operations and can evaluate data quality through both a technical and business lens.
Opinionated Technical Contributor: You have informed opinions on how things should work. You assess technical tradeoffs, evaluate solution feasibility, and contribute meaningfully to conversations with engineers based on your understanding.
Growth-Oriented Problem Solver: You're excited to build deep expertise in a complex domain and take on strategic projects. You've tackled ambiguous problems that required figuring things out as you went.
Analytical and Hands-On: You're equally comfortable writing code to analyze data patterns and manually investigating edge cases. You dig into details when needed and know when to zoom out to see the bigger picture.
What You'll Do
Build Data Quality Expertise
  • Master how our business entity data behaves as it flows through our pipeline: what transforms are applied at each stage, where quality issues emerge, and how changes impact downstream data
  • Review production code to understand how data is processed and assess how proposed changes would impact data quality
  • Create documentation and system maps that capture how data is processed, dependencies, and quality considerations
Drive Pipeline Improvements
  • Partner with Engineering and Product on pipeline enhancements, bringing data quality insights, business impact assessments, and informed opinions on data requirements
  • Validate improvements through rigorous testing and hands-on verification of data quality
  • Translate data quality investigations into system-level improvement opportunities
Solve Complex Data Challenges
  • Lead data improvement initiatives that require systems thinking and creative problem-solving (improving location verification, integrating new data sources, or solving novel extraction challenges)
  • Tackle ambiguous problems through understanding processing logic, manual investigation, and cross-functional coordination
  • Build repeatable approaches to testing, validation, and root cause analysis

What You'll Bring
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics or related technical roles with focus on data quality and pipeline systems
  • Experience working with data pipelines, ETL systems, or data processing workflows where you understand how data moves through systems and what can go wrong
  • Strong skills investigating data quality issues through profiling data, identifying anomalies, tracing root causes, and validating fixes
  • Ability to understand data transformations by reviewing SQL, Python, Java, or similar code
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL for data analysis, profiling, and manipulation
  • Experience solving ambiguous, multi-faceted data problems that required figuring out the approach, not just executing well-defined analyses
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Engineering and/or Product teams, translating between technical implementation and business needs
  • Self-directed with strong ownership mentality; you drive your work forward and know when to seek input
Strongly Preferred
  • Ability to work hybrid from our Vancouver, WA or Waltham, MA office locations
  • Experience working with firmographic/company data in B2B context
  • Experience with data profiling, entity resolution, record linkage, or data matching systems
  • Background in web data acquisition, data extraction, or data collection systems
  • Knowledge of web data structures (HTML/DOM) and data extraction methodologies
  • Experience designing validation strategies or testing frameworks for data quality
  • Experience creating technical documentation or knowledge-sharing resources
  • Track record of leading or co-leading cross-functional data projects
This Role Is Not a Fit If:
You're looking to focus primarily on building dashboards, creating reports, or analyzing business metrics. While you'll do analysis in this role, the core mission is understanding and improving how business entity data is processed and profiled through our pipeline systems.
This Role Is a Strong Fit If:
You want to become the expert on how business entity data flows through systems and drive strategic initiatives. You're excited to develop deep technical expertise in data quality, contribute informed opinions to data requirements, and progressively take on more ownership as you master the domain. You enjoy solving problems where the answer isn't obvious and seeing your work directly improve product capabilities and customer success.
