Cloud Engineer

Location: Hill Air Force Base, UT. Clearance Required: Secret. Employment Type: Full-Time.


About the Role

The JAAW Group LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support secure, mission-critical cloud infrastructure for Department of Defense customers at Hill Air Force Base. This role is responsible for administering, maintaining, monitoring, and improving enterprise cloud environments while ensuring the security, availability, and reliability of cloud services. The Cloud Engineer will work closely with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and software development teams to support cloud operations, automate processes, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve cloud platform performance within classified government environments.


Responsibilities

  • Support the administration, monitoring, and maintenance of AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud environments.

  • Provision and manage cloud resources, user accounts, permissions, and access controls.

  • Monitor cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and security using enterprise monitoring tools.

  • Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, networking, and system issues while minimizing downtime.

  • Support cloud application deployments and CI/CD pipeline operations.

  • Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.

  • Assist with routine platform maintenance, patching, and system upgrades.

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with DoD security requirements.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and system configurations.

  • Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance cloud operations and reliability.


Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret security clearance required prior to onboarding; Top Secret preferred.

  • U.S. citizenship required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 2–4 years of cloud engineering, cloud administration, or IT infrastructure experience.

  • Experience supporting AWS and/or Microsoft Azure environments.

  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.

  • Experience supporting enterprise or government cloud environments.

  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar).

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines.

  • AWS or Microsoft Azure certifications.

  • CompTIA Security+ or other DoD 8570/8140 compliant certifications.

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or other federal government environments.
