We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging - but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.
About the SAP Internship Experience Program
The SAP Internship Experience Program is SAP's global, strategic, paid internship program that provides university students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers.
Three reasons to intern at SAP
  1. Culture of collaboration: meet with mentors, make new friends across the globe and create a thriving personal network.
  2. Project-driven experience: gain cross-functional skills from our virtual and in-person learning sessions, diverse subject matter experts, and project deliverables.
  3. Gain visibility: with SAP Internship Experience Program in your title, you'll have a global network of SAP leaders, entrepreneurs and career development opportunities at your fingertips.

What you'll build:
Position title: SAP iXp Intern - Data Management & Landscape Transformation (DMLT)
Location: Newtown Square, PA (in-person)
Internship Duration: 12 months
Working hours: 20-40 hours/week
As a DMLT Intern, you will work with SAP Data Management & Landscape Transformation (DMLT) experts to understand the portfolio and DMLT's integrated toolchain environment, focusing on evaluating, streamlining, and accelerating core customer engagement workflows-from incoming requests through solution development to quote-ready deliverables, including plans, resource estimates, and sourcing constructs.
Your primary objective will be to understand current ("as-is") operational practices and uncover opportunities for efficiency improvements. A key focus area will be reducing time-to-market for critical business milestones such as Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates, risk reviews, and leadership approvals. You will contribute to modernizing internal toolkits, templates, and estimation frameworks using AI and automations to support faster and more consistent outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Study, document, and observe existing customer engagement workflows across the DMLT portfolio to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Analyze the end-to-end lifecycle of ROMs, risk reviews, and approval processes to identify opportunities for automation and acceleration.
  • Leverage SAP DMLT tools and integrated toolchains to improve data flow and minimize manual intervention.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather feedback on operational challenges and validate improvement opportunities.
  • Present structured, data-driven insights and recommendations to enhance process efficiency and scalability.
  • Assist in developing and validating AI use cases that improve operational effectiveness.
  • Support integration of AI capabilities into existing tools and services (APIs, microservices).
  • Research emerging AI trends (LLMs, retrieval, evaluation) and summarize applicability to DMLT scenarios.

What you bring:
We're looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning. We iterate fast and deploy to production quickly. The ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and methods is essential.
  • Education: Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled, or recently graduated (start date must be within 6 months of graduation date) from a coding academy/bootcamp, apprenticeship, associate, bachelor's, master's or JD/PhD program.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Basic familiarity with, or strong interest in, SAP ecosystems, enterprise software, or digital transformation portfolios.
    • Programming: Comfortable with Python; familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript and basic frontend development is a plus.
    • Understanding of business process modeling (BPMN), workflow design, or Agile methodologies.
  • Other Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving skills and bias to practical application.
    • Clear communication and teamwork; willingness to learn from feedback.
    • Business curiosity to connect AI work to customer and process outcomes.

Helpful Qualifications:
  • Experience with building full-stack solutions, including UX (React, common web technologies).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (SAP BTP, Azure, GCP, or AWS), containers (Docker), and CI basics.
  • Knowledge of SAP technologies is a plus (e.g., SAP BTP AI Core/Launchpad, SAP HANA Cloud/SAP Datasphere).
  • Prior involvement in student projects, hackathons, or agile teams; comfort writing unit tests and docs.
  • Familiarity with Mergers, Acquisitions, and Divestitures (M&A/D) concepts is an added advantage.

Where you belong
Be part of SAP Next Gen, a global community for students, universities, schools and educational partners, who are passionate about innovation and technology.
  1. Culture of Collaboration: Partner with experienced SAP colleagues and expert mentors who will support your growth. Grow professionally through personalized mentoring, coaching, and career development support.
  2. Project-driven Experience: Kickstart your career with hands-on learning experience, making an impact from day one by contributing to meaningful projects that help the world run better. You'll have endless learning resources at your fingertips and gain future-ready skills from a variety of virtual, in-person, and hybrid learning sessions, cultivated just for you, and aligned with our learning approach.
  3. Gain Visibility: Build relationships with leaders and peers across teams and functions. Showcase your ideas, skills, and creativity in a global, fast-paced environment. Open doors for future career opportunities within SAP and beyond.

Meet your team:
This role offers hands-on experience on SAP application and DMLT tools, understanding real world challenges in business transformations and the use of AI to introduce operational efficiency.
