Will AI replace Python coders?

Python developers are unlikely to be fully replaced by AI, as coding often requires creativity, problem-solving, and understanding complex requirements that AI tools currently cannot replicate entirely. AI can assist programmers by automating repetitive tasks and providing code suggestions, but human oversight and expertise remain essential for designing, debugging, and maintaining software. Staying updated with new tools and improving problem-solving skills can help Python coders remain valuable in the evolving tech landscape.

Job description

Supercharge your career at Nucleus Networks!

What makes Nucleus different from other Managed IT Services providers? To start, our focus goes beyond just keeping the lights on. We work with every one of our clients to help supercharge their business, transforming their IT from a system that just needs support to one that is driving business results and helping them grow.

We are a team of over 80 experienced professionals focused on providing industry-leading IT Services to clients across Canada. Headquartered in downtown Vancouver with operations in BC, Alberta and Ontario, Nucleus operates on a remote-first, hybrid work model.

We've been nominated as one of BC's top 10 Best Workplaces and have been a top 5 Finalist for BC's Best Company. We pride ourselves on our culture, our unique approach to delivering rapid-response IT services, and our continued obsession with providing the best client experience possible.

We've been recognized as one of North America's top Managed IT Services Providers as well as one of the top ten MSPs in Canada. Our vision is to be the best MSP in Canada for SMBs and we are looking for talented people who want to be a part of our journey and help us get there!

Role Summary

Nucleus is looking for a Virtual Chief AI Officer (vCAIO). The vCAIO will embed directly inside client businesses, uncovering the operational friction that holds them back, designing the workflows that will replace it, and partnering with AI Engineers to ship solutions that change how these organizations actually run. You won't be writing slide decks that get filed away; you'll be on-site at small and mid-size businesses interviewing operators, mapping processes, building the business case, and owning client outcomes from first conversation through post-deployment adoption. You care about the outcome, not the deck.

This is a hands-on, client-facing strategy role built for someone who is as comfortable diagramming a workflow with C-Suite leaders as they are co-piloting a build session with engineers. This role may operate remotely from within Canada, with a strong preference for a candidate who is able to meet face-to-face with clients in either Vancouver or Toronto.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Embed directly with clients to run discovery, interviewing operators across roles, observinglive workflows, and mapping current-state processes that surface high-ROI opportunities for AI and automation.
  • Build the business case for each engagement: quantify the cost of the status quo, model expected ROI and prioritize a sequenced roadmap of automation opportunities the client can act on.
  • Design future-state workflows in detail:process diagrams, decision logic, exception handling, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and integration touchpoints, allto a level of specificity engineering can build against.
  • Partner withan AI Engineerthroughout the build, translating client requirements into technical specs, validatingoutputs against business intent, and brokering trade-offs (quality vs. speed vs. cost vs. risk) in plain language.
  • Lead change management on the client side:stakeholder alignment, communication plans, training rollout, and adoption tracking.
  • Own the client relationship end-to-end: scope, expectations, status updates, escalations, and executive readouts. Serve as the single point of accountability for client outcomes.
  • Run post-deployment business reviews to measure realized impact, surface follow-on opportunities, and build the case for portfolio expansion.
  • Contribute internally by codifying reusable discovery frameworks, ROI models, workflow templates, and industry playbooks that scale across the practice.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in management consulting, deployment strategy, technical program management, operations, or a similar client-facing strategic role.
  • Demonstratedtrack recordof driving complex projects to measurable outcomes in client or stakeholder-facing environments.
  • Strong analytical foundation: comfortable with spreadsheets, ROI modeling, basic SQL, and quantitative reasoning. Python literacy is a plus but notrequired.
  • Working knowledge of modern AI capabilities:You knowwhat LLMs, agents, and RAG systems can andcan'tdo, and the judgment to scope realistic AI solutions vs. AI theater.
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-moving client environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills: You can run a discovery interview with a warehouseforemanand an executive readout with a CEO on the same day.
  • Problem-solver who gets energy from sitting across the desk from a real operator and figuring out where the frictionactually is.
  • Willingness to travel regularly toclient sites throughout Metro Vancouver or Toronto.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Prior consulting experience or a deployment-strategy/forward-deployed role at a software company.
  • Experience leading process re-engineering, workflow automation, or digital transformation engagements end-to-end.
  • Familiarity with workflow automation platforms (Zapier, Make, n8n) or major SaaS systems (CRMs, ERPs, ticketing, document management) at the level of "I can spec an integration without help."
  • Experience working with SMB clients across industries such as professional services, healthcare, logistics, or retail.

Perks!

  • An award-winning culture and organization that focuses time and energy on YOU and fostering an awesome workplace
  • Hybrid Remote Environment
  • In-Person and Virtual Staff Socials - we offer an outgoing culture that provides lots of opportunities to connect with your co-workers
  • Competitive Salary & Annual Vacation Time
  • Comprehensive Benefits, including a Health Spending Account and RRSP Matching program
  • Birthdays off!

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to Canadian experience, race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, religion, marital status, family status, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or age.
