This role is responsible for designing, deploying, and sustaining advanced automation and AIenabled solutions in semiconductor manufacturing. This role focuses on transitioning AI and automation initiatives from proofofconcept into fully integrated, productionready systems that improve yield, reliability, safety, and operational efficiency across PostFab manufacturing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Manufacturing, or related)
  • Strong experience in factory automation, systems integration, or manufacturing engineering
  • Handson experience with Python, automation software, or datadriven systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from concept through production deployment
  • Strong crossfunctional communication and technical leadership skills

Preferred Experience

  • AI/ML and computer vision in manufacturing environments
  • Robotics and automated material handling systems (AGV/AMR)
  • Semiconductor manufacturing or cleanroom environments
  • Custom hardware design or additive manufacturing

 Salary: onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $75.300 to $120,400 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of the internal equity of our current team members.   • Lead design, integration, and deployment of AI/MLbased insitu defect detection systems within manufacturing tools
  • Develop and maintain Pythonbased computer vision pipelines tailored to wafer inspection use cases
  • Train AI models using curated defect datasets and boundingbox annotations
  • Design and fabricate custom 3Dprinted hardware for cleanroom and intool imaging applications
  • Act as the technical integrator between Manufacturing, Engineering, IT/CIM, and Data Systems
  • Integrate vision outputs with enterprise platforms (e.g., Klarity, Shiny) to enable automated holds and defect visibility
  • Support downstream engineering teams by enabling automated root cause analysis workflows
  • Own automation initiatives involving AGV/AMR robotics, including vendor selection, pilot execution, FAT/SAT, and scale deployment
  • Ensure compliance with industrial safety standards and EHS requirements
  • Contribute to advanced manufacturing and sustainability initiatives, including yield improvement, cost reduction, and greenhouse gas reduction
