Job description

Systems and Automation Developer

The Systems and Automation Developer strengthens CBMC's ministry impact by improving how our systems connect, automate, and deliver reliable data across the organization. This role focuses on building integrations, streamlining workflows, and ensuring that teams have access to accurate, accessible information to support decision‑making and ministry effectiveness.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Systems Integration – ensure reliable system connectivity, design and support integrations across core ministry platforms, build and maintain API‑based connections, monitor and resolve synchronization issues, collaborate with vendors and technical partners, and contribute to a scalable integration approach.
  • Automation & Workflow Design – design and implement workflow automation across systems, build triggers and repeatable processes, enhance consistency in workflows, and streamline manual or repetitive tasks for internal teams.
  • Data Infrastructure & Pipelines – build and support data pipelines, ensure consistent data structures across platforms, resolve data integrity issues, and adhere to data governance practices and access boundaries.
  • Data Access & Reporting Enablement – develop and maintain reliable datasets, improve data accessibility for decision‑making, enable self‑service reporting for internal teams, and translate operational needs into effective data solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement & Documentation – collaborate with the Operations team to improve systems, workflows, and data processes, implement scalable solutions, enhance platform efficiency, and maintain clear documentation.
Qualifications

    • Demonstrate Biblical integrity, humility, and servant leadership in all areas of responsibility.
  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
    • One to two+ years of experience working with data systems, integrations, or automation tools.
    • Strong understanding of relational data structures and SQL.
    • Experience working with APIs, webhooks, or system integrations.
    • Familiarity with workflow automation tools (Power Automate, Zapier, Make, or similar).
    • Experience with reporting or analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
    • Ability to troubleshoot issues across multiple systems.
    • Strong problem‑solving and systems‑thinking skills.
  • Preferred
    • Experience working with CRM platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce.
    • Experience building data pipelines or ETL processes.
    • Familiarity with scripting or programming languages (Python, JavaScript, or similar).
    • Experience with cloud‑based platforms and SaaS ecosystems.
    • Experience using AI‑assisted tools to build or support technical solutions.
    • Experience working in nonprofit or ministry environments.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 annually.
