Job Summary:
The Senior Automation Developer is responsible for designing, building, and supporting modern automation solutions that combine RPA, AI agents, and light data engineering within a Microsoft ecosystem.
This role works closely with business stakeholders, Information Technology team, and the Data Analytics team to streamline processes, enable intelligent decision making, and create scalable automation and data pipelines that act as a force multiplier across the organization. The focus is on enabling higher value work by combining workflow automation, AI-driven agents, and data movement/enablement.
Principal Responsibilities
Translate business requirements and process maps into automation, AI agent, and data enablement solutions
Meet with internal stakeholders and understand business needs to build solutions independently
Design, develop, deploy, and support RPA workflows and AI-powered agents (Copilot Studio, Copilot agents, WorkIQ, Power Automate)
Identify process improvement and automation/AI opportunities, assess feasibility, and recommend scalable designs
Build and maintain lightweight data pipelines to move, transform, and expose data for reporting, analytics, and AI use cases
Partner with the analytics team to enable downstream BI and AI models through clean, reliable data flows
Identify and communicate technical and infrastructure requirements for automation and AI deployments
Create and maintain solution, process, and architecture documentation
Support existing automations, AI agents, and data pipelines, implementing enhancements through structured change control
Identify reusable automation and agent patterns across the organization to drive enterprise-scale leverage
Develop and document test plans and UAT scenarios for automation, AI agent behavior, and data flows
Present solutions and design approaches to business stakeholders and IT in clear, non-technical terms
Requirements
Minimum of 4 years of automation development experience within a Microsoft ecosystem
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
Experience with Intelligent Automation / RPA (Microsoft Power Automate preferred)
Hands-on experience developing AI agents or copilots (Copilot Studio, Copilot agents, WorkIQ, or equivalent platforms)
Demonstrated experience across the full technology lifecycle: requirements, design, build, test, deployment, and support
Working knowledge of data pipelines and analytics enablement, including:
SQL-based data access (Azure SQL, SQL Server, or equivalent)
Basic data transformation and integration patterns
Supporting downstream reporting or AI use cases
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services, including automation, integration, and data services
Experience with Power Platform components (Power Automate, Power Apps; Power BI familiarity a plus)
Scripting experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
Experience integrating with APIs, web services, and SaaS platforms
Strong ability to manage multiple initiatives, prioritize work, and deliver within deadlines
Proven ability to rapidly learn and evaluate new platforms and technologies
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions to business users

Working Conditions
Office environment with moderate noise level; Able to work flexible hours and travel to other Conner Strong buildings and client work sites on a regular basis.
Compensation
Salary for this position ranges from $90,000 - $105,000. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
