Job description

Job Summary:
SG Cap Trading, LLC is a boutique technology company that focuses on using technology and big data to solve financial challenges. They are seeking a Linux Systems Engineer to join their infrastructure team, where the role involves developing automation scripts, building monitoring solutions, and implementing infrastructure-as-code.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain Python automation scripts for infrastructure management.
• Build monitoring solutions using open-source tools.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code with Ansible.
• Troubleshoot Linux system issues and assist with hardware maintenance.
• Set up desktops, laptops, and virtual machines (Linux, Windows, Mac).
• Support SQL database management, including queries and table creation.
• Design and document scalable infrastructure solutions.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Proficiency with Linux command line environments (Ubuntu/Debian, CentOS/RHEL)
• Strong Python programming skills for automation
• Experience with Bash scripting and configuration management
• Familiarity with Git version control and code review processes
• Understanding of core Linux services (systemd, SSH, DNS, DHCP)
• Basic networking and network monitoring knowledge
