We are currently seeking a highly skilled Applications Developer in support of a dynamic team in McLean, VA. This role is ideal for a professional ready to take on the challenge of transitioning a Java/Springboot application interfacing with an Elasticsearch data tier to a cutting-edge Python-based solution. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining the legacy search environment while simultaneously developing new features and ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the next-generation platform in coordination with an Agile Development team.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the transition of a Java/Springboot application to a Python-based solution.
  • Maintain the legacy search environment until it can be retired.
  • Develop new features and provide ongoing operations and maintenance for the next-generation platform.
  • Work within a dynamic Agile environment, supporting integration with multiple applications.
  • Represent the development team in Technical Exchange meetings.

Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience with Elasticsearch.
  • Proficiency in Java/Springboot and Python development.
  • Experience supporting multiple inter-related services and working with REST services.
  • Proficiency with AWS Services and Cloud-based development, including EC2, ELB, RDS, S3, and VPC.
  • Experience in Agile (Sprint or Kanban) development environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in design, systems analysis, and identifying technology gaps.
