Our Analytics group provides the Benefits Data Platform for a large client, including data models, custom analyses, and dashboards the drive their benefits strategy. We are seeking a strong analytics engineer to join this team to expect our capacity and output. This is a heads-on, blended role: part analytics engineering (data models and pipelines) and part analysis (dashboards, ad hoc analysis, and other client-facing deliverables). 


You'll join an existing high-performance delivery team to work deeply with healthcare and benefits data, including claims, eligibility, clinical, HR, and engagement, in service of strategic questions for this employer.


What you'll do:

  • Design, build and improve Power BI dashboards that answer recurring and ad hoc strategic questions
  • Develop and extend the data models that power these dashboards and analyses, utilizing dbt within a Microsoft Fabric environment
  • Build and maintain pipelines that populate these data models
  • Validate data quality and accuracy across claims, eligibility, clinical, HR, and engagement data, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Support custom and ad hoc analyses on strategic benefits questions

You'll be working with existing data sets as well as onboarding new benefits data domains and providers. You'll work in close partnership with the rest of the client's Analytics team.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

  • 6+ years experience in analytics engineering, data analysis, business intelligence or similar roles
  • 6+ years experience with SQL and Python
  • 3+ years experience working with benefits and healthcare data, including medical claims, eligibility, and pharmacy data sets
  • Demonstrated experience conducting analyses and/or building dashboards in benefits-related contexts
  • Demonstrated experience engaging directly with clients in a professional, structured way, including gathering requirements, setting expectations, and communicating technical findings clearly
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous, evolving environments
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data quality issues

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience working with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
  • Familiarity with Tuva Project
  • Familiarity with common risk scoring and benchmarking models

Compensation

  • This is a contract role, not an employee position
  • Compensation range: $80 / hr - $100 / hr
  • Expected schedule: 40 / hr / week, through at least end of December 2026, with opportunity for extension past then
