Location: LSB Corporate Office OKC OK - Oklahoma City, OK 

This position will work with the VP of Capital & Construction and can be located at the OKC corporate office but could also be located at a manufacturing facility working with one of the Engineering Managers as a proctor. Some travel may be required. The student can work for one year or one semester at a time alternating with another student. The ideal candidate would benefit the most by working two consecutive semesters. After working in this position, this will place the student in an excellent position to enter the work force with critical skills that are required for engineers to work efficiently using project management skills which are not necessarily thought within the academia circle. 

The Intern student/s will be involved with the following assignments: 

  • Weekly updates and analysis of KPIs (set by management) for Project Management and project updates including development of Power BI dashboards at first with spreadsheets but ultimately converting into a project management and capital portfolio software 
  • Documenting processes workflows, standards and training materials into a Corporate manual working with an external trainer and the VP of Capital and Construction for assistance. 
  • Troubleshooting reporting errors and working with site project managers for verification of accurate data around safety, cost, and schedules on LSB’s capital portfolio. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Projects, SharePoint and Power BI and linking to one another is preferred. 
  • Coding and programming skills (Visual basic, Python, Java, C, Power BI, SharePoint Power Apps) are preferred.
  • Qualifying students must be in good standing as a sophomore or greater, majoring in Mechanical or Chemical or Electrical Engineering and currently have a 3.2 GPA or higher. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Microsoft Excel, Projects and Power BI and linking to one another is preferred.
  • Skills in programming (Visual basic, Python, Java, C, Power BI) is preferred.
