JOB DESCRIPTION: Amrize Cement Inc. seeks a Senior Maintenance Engineer in Seattle, Washington to develop and implement technical and mechanical improvements for the facility. Primary responsibilities will include:
  • Monitor reliability-based systems including preventative maintenance systems, lubrication, vibration analysis, and condition monitoring.
  • Create preventative maintenance routines (PMRs) and bills of materials (BOMs) for new equipment (including mobile equipment).
  • Perform activities relating to preventive/predictive maintenance programs (Inspection, Vibration, Oil Analysis, NDT, thermography, etc.) to ensure optimum equipment availability.
  • Develop and implement the DSCQP inspection program.
  • Analyze and eliminate repetitive problems through root cause analysis, Pareto analysis, statistical review, FMEA and similar techniques.
  • Support and guide sustainable improvements in MTBF and NAI of major equipment.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement processes around equipment availability and reliability.
  • Coordinate SAP system operations in the area of preventative maintenance routine (PMR) optimization.
  • Provide technical support, training, and development for maintenance functions with specific focus on entrenching reliability concepts within the maintenance group.
  • Contribute to area budget and accountability for results based on defined KPIs.
  • Facilitate the Mechanical Maintenance area, including core maintenance systems and researching/recommending new procedures based on new technology.
  • Provide daily feedback to the maintenance lead hand and has a field presence to ensure safety and effectiveness.
  • Help ensure the operating efficiency of all major pieces of plant equipment (from raw materials & fuels receiving, through raw grinding, fuel preparation, pyro processing and cement grinding
  • Perform activities relating to the plant's predictive maintenance and equipment health program in partnership with the maintenance team.
  • Support the development of best practices and processes to ensure plant activities are optimized and costs are best in class.
  • Contribute to the development and application of plant policies and procedures.
  • Help develop goals and objectives to implement actions, track performance and continuously look for opportunities for improvement.
  • Helping to develop the plant's capital plan and implement plant capital projects.

This position involves up to 10% domestic/national travel.
REQUIREMENTS: The position of Senior Maintenance Engineer requires a bachelor's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a related engineering field, plus 3 years of professional experience in the job offered, as a Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or in a related maintenance position within the cement or mining industry.
The position requires 3 years of professional experience with each of the following:
1) Working in a maintenance capacity in the cement or mining industry;
2) Working with ball mill, materials classifiers, large-scale fans, and heavy conveyors;
3) Using SAP for maintenance work orders and parts inventory management; and
4) Ensuring maintenance reliability and applying predictive maintenance principles.
