Fire Technician
Location: Rockville, MD
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Fire Suppression Technician to service, inspect, and repair kitchen suppression systems for commercial customers. This role requires availability for scheduled service and participation in an on-call rotation.
Compensation
  • Hourly pay (based on experience)
  • Potential quarterly bonuses
  • Time-and-a-half pay for all hours worked between 6 pm and 5 am
  • Paid 4-hour minimum at time-and-a-half for emergency calls
  • Paid 4-hour minimum at double time for emergency calls on recognized holidays, in addition to 8 hours of holiday pay

Job Duties
  • Inspect and repair pre-engineered restaurant fire suppression systems (ANSUL, Pyro Chem, Range Guard, Piranha).
  • Apply knowledge of NFPA codes, manufacturer guidelines, and local fire codes.
  • Perform on-site emergency troubleshooting.
  • Identify and document NFPA code and non-conformance issues.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of work performed.
  • Conduct fire marshal tests and inspections.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required.

Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license with 3 or fewer points.
  • Minimum 3 years licensed driving experience.
  • At least 2 years' experience inspecting restaurant fire suppression systems.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA codes.
  • Ability to work varied hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends.
  • Comfortable working on ladders (6-12 ft) and lifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in confined spaces.
  • Strong customer communication and documentation skills.
  • Excellent attendance and organizational skills.
