Our world depends on rocks, minerals, metals and other raw materials - the building blocks of modern society. As an industry leader, Metso helps transform these essential materials to enable sustainable modern life.

Our solutions and services support everything from renewable energy and electrification to the infrastructure and digital economy shaping our future. Together, we help our customers meet growing demand while driving the industry toward a more sustainable use of the earth's natural resources.

Join nearly 18,000 Metsonites worldwide, each bringing unique expertise and experience to positive change. At Metso, you're supported by a growth culture built on safety, wellbeing, inclusion and collaboration.

This is your opportunity to make an impact and rise above the possible.

Job posting end date: 07/16/2026

If you are a commercially minded technical professional who enjoys turning complex industrial equipment into profitable growth, this role gives you ownership of our burner products sales pipeline-a high-value business with clear room to grow. Metso's burner technology is at the core of our customers' thermal processes, powering kilns and enabling efficient, flexible combustion solutions.

This is not a passive support role. You will actively shape opportunities, build winning proposals, and drive conversion from early engagement through to order intake.

THE TEAM YOU BELONG TO

You'll join Metso's pyro (thermal-processing) business, working closely with Market Area Technical Sales Support (MA TSS), Site Account Managers (SAM), and global engineering and product teams.

The role has no direct reports but requires strong collaboration and influence across a global network. Day-to-day, you will engage with sales, engineering, proposals, product management, and services teams across multiple regions, ensuring alignment and competitiveness of our combustion solutions.

Our pyro team is mostly in York (USA) and High Wycombe (UK), with additional colleagues in other global locations; High Wycombe holds the largest concentration of people working on this product. Day to day you'll collaborate with engineering, sales and market-area teams, proposals, project management and marketing, so most days involve talking with people from different parts of the world.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

In your role, you will own and drive the burner products sales funnel from opportunity to order, your core responsibilities include:

  • Own and develop the burner products sales pipeline by identifying, qualifying, and converting opportunities in collaboration with MA TSS and SAM teams
  • Lead both technical and commercial sales activities, engaging customers, defining value propositions, and building strong win strategies
  • Develop high-quality technical and commercial proposals for combustion solutions, including kiln burners, heat-up burners, and retrofit packages
  • Ensure proposals align with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal guidelines
  • Maintain accurate pipeline data, forecasting, and reporting in Salesforce, contributing to business planning and visibility
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product management, and services to ensure competitive and evolving solutions
  • Support growth of the installed base through upgrades, retrofits, and optimization opportunities focused on efficiency, emissions, and fuel flexibility
  • Build product capability by identifying training needs and delivering burner product training to internal sales teams

WHO YOU ARE

 Required qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of combustion systems and burner technologies (e.g., rotary kiln burners, fuel systems, combustion control)
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience
  • Experience in technical sales, application engineering, or product support within pyro processing, cement, lime, or similar industries
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and compelling customer value propositions
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across functions and regions
  • Commercial mindset with experience supporting proposal development and order conversion
  • Fluent English
  • Willingness to travel internationally (up to ~40%)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with industrial thermal processes or heavy industries
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM tools
  • Experience supporting retrofit and installed base growth strategies

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

This role offers real commercial impact. You will directly influence revenue growth, shape customer solutions, and position Metso as a leader in combustion technologies.

Because burner systems are often the entry point to broader plant solutions, your work will have visibility beyond a single product line. You'll operate in a dynamic international environment, collaborating with teams and customers globally while contributing to a growing and strategically important business.

Metso is a global leader in sustainable mining and aggregates technology, with approximately 18,000 employees across 50+ countries-offering the scale of a global organization combined with the agility of a collaborative, expert-driven team.

Metso is committed to pay equity and transparent reward practices globally. Compensation information is shared in line with local legislation and applicable recruitment practices.
