Why Service is Booming at Sun Valley Solar

The Phoenix solar market is shifting. As PV systems across the valley age, the demand for expert troubleshooting is skyrocketing. Unfortunately, as other solar companies go out of business, thousands of "orphaned" systems are left behind, leaving homeowners desperate for reliable service.

While other companies are scaling back, our Service Department is expanding to meet this demand. Sun Valley Solar Solutions has been a stable, trusted industry leader for 20 years. We offer the top-tier resources of a large corporation while fiercely maintaining the supportive, family feel of a smaller business. If you love the puzzle of troubleshooting and want a career with a company built to last, we want you on our team.

What You Will Do in the Field

Based locally in the field with a company-issued work vehicle, you will operate independently to keep systems running at peak performance. No two days are the same.

  • Expert Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair our own installations as well as 3rd-party systems, isolating ground faults, down inverters, and bad panels.
  • System Commissioning & Testing: Perform insulation testing, I-V curve testing, thermal imagery, and OEM testing using tools like Fluke IR cameras and Solmetric SunEye.
  • Networking & Monitoring: Install, configure, and troubleshoot monitoring equipment (SunPower, SMA, Locus), including routers, Wi-Fi adapters, and hardwiring.
  • System Modifications: Perform uninstallations and reinstallations (R&R) for roof repairs, install consumption meters, and assist with warranty/RMA processes.

What You Bring to the Table

We are looking for highly detailed problem-solvers who take pride in their work and possess excellent customer communication skills.

  • Proven Experience: Minimum 2 years of related Residential DC/AC installation or Service experience with troubleshooting knowledge being a huge plus!
  • Technical Acumen: Ability to read electrical/structural plans, perform shade analysis, and navigate monitoring and CRM systems on a laptop/phone.
  • Safety & Mobility: Comfortably lift up to 60 lbs, climb ladders, work on rooftops, and perform in varying Phoenix weather conditions (Safety Sensitive role).
  • Clean Driving Record: A valid driver's license and acceptance on our company auto insurance (no DUIs in the past 3 years). This and excellent attendance is also a must!

Compensation & Benefits

We believe in taking care of the technicians who take care of our customers.

  • Competitive hourly pay based on your specific experience level.
  • Company-issued take home work vehicle and gas card to use in the field.
  • Comprehensive insurance including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life.
  • Retirement & Time Off featuring a 401(k) with company match and Paid Time Off (PTO).

Drug Tests (excluding THC), Background Checks, and MVD reports will be performed on all final candidates. Employment eligibility is verified through E-Verify. Sun Valley Solar Solutions supports equity in our workplace.
