We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent to join a manufacturing operation. This position is responsible for sourcing materials and equipment, managing supplier relationships, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting production requirements.
The ideal candidate has a manufacturing or mechanical background, warehouse experience, strong negotiation skills, and experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
Responsibilities
  • Source and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, reliability, and delivery
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and purchasing agreements
  • Purchase materials, equipment, and supplies according to production requirements
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships
  • Monitor supplier performance and delivery deadlines
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records
  • Utilize MRP to support material planning and procurement
  • Maintain ERP information, including EBQ, safety stock, and vendor selection
  • Ensure inventory and materials are available to support production schedules
  • Research new suppliers and opportunities to reduce costs and improve purchasing efficiency
Requirements
  • 3+ years of manufacturing/mechanical industry experience required
  • Warehouse experience required
  • Experience with purchasing, sourcing, inventory control, and vendor management
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Spanish fluency preferred
