Description
Are you a strategic, detail-driven procurement professional who thrives on building strong vendor relationships and driving smart inventory decisions? HESCO is looking for a Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement operations and help shape the strategy behind our inventory and supply chain success.
In this role, you'll take ownership of vendor negotiations, inventory replenishment, and budget forecasting - all while partnering closely with our Customer Service, Warehouse, and Sales teams to keep operations running smoothly and support company growth.
What You'll Do
Procurement & Vendor Relations
  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies that drive cost savings and support company growth
  • Serve as the primary liaison with vendors, negotiating favorable pricing and terms while ensuring compliance with distributor programs and pricing tiers
  • Track supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead-time) and lead continuous improvement efforts
  • Maximize annual rebate and channel incentive programs
  • Identify supply chain risks and build contingency plans

Inventory Oversight & Replenishment
  • Manage inventory levels and stocking strategy at our warehouse, balancing service goals with cost efficiency
  • Optimize automated replenishment and purchase order processes within our Infor SXe ERP system
  • Build inventory health reports to flag at-risk or slow-moving SKUs and prevent dead stock
  • Monitor open orders and resolve delays proactively
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to anticipate project needs and adjust purchasing plans

Budget & Forecasting
  • Track and report on inventory values and spend against departmental and company goals
  • Build demand and purchasing forecasts to guide planning decisions
  • Develop ROI models to support strategic initiatives

Leadership & Systems
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Purchasing team
  • Leverage the Infor SXe ERP system and vendor portals to their full potential
  • Stay current on ERP upgrades and best practices via TUG (The User Group); occasional travel may be required

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of purchasing experience in a distribution environment
  • Hands-on expertise with Infor SXe (or a similar ERP system)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with inventory management, budget planning, and demand forecasting
  • Distribution/manufacturing experience and familiarity with electrical products are a plus
